Colombia and Mexico, two major producers in the region, should not suffer significant losses for the disease that can destroy entire crops if not properly controlled by spraying, making green fruits fall from the trees.

The executive director of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Robério Silva said on Thursday, 12, in Belo Horizonte, that the other producer countries, such as Colombia, should follow Brazil's example and adopt measures to support spatial coffee supply in order to reduce pressure on prices. A frost in the main world producer, Brazil, in July should not cause damage to production in the main producing areas in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, stressed the OIC.
