World coffee exports increased by 4.6% in April compared with the same month of 2013. 10.25 million bags of 60 kg were shipped compared to 9.80 million bags in April 2013. The information is from the International Coffee Organization (ICO).
The global exports in the first seven months of the coffee year 2013/14 (October 2013 to April 2014) showed a reduction of about 3.4% compared to the first seven months of the previous period. Over the past 12 months ending in April 2014, exports of Arabica totalled 68.99 million bags compared with a volume of 68.78 million bags in the previous year. The shipment of Robusta in the period was 40.64 million bags - against 43.12 million bags in the same comparison.
