With the worsening of the outbreak of coffee rust in social and economic terms, the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (NFC) will host a seminar to this reality, in order to share information and increase their visibility.
In 2008, Colombia had suffered the devastating effects of the outbreak of coffee rust. In direct response to recent outbreaks in Central America and Peru, the body promoted several initiatives, in late 2012, to help find solutions through the sharing of experiences and collaboration with colleagues from Central America.
Luis G. Muñoz, CEO of NFC, invites members of SCAE (Speciality Coffee Assn. Of Europe) to participate in this meeting scheduled on 16-19 October at Fair Expoespeciales Bogota.
Quoted on the official SCAE page, Luis Muñoz commented: "We are aware that the strategies and successful solutions applied in Colombia may or may not be replicated in other Arabica producing countries. We hope by scientists, politicians and industry representatives from different countries to exchange their opinions and updated information about the attacks of rust and its impact in different countries.
