Brazil welcomes International Coffee Week

In the city of Belo Horizonte, capital of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, will gather leading baristas and coffee tasters of the country in order to participate in competitions integrated Week International Coffee
This initiative, which will take place in the pavilion Expominas, 9-13 September include the International Fair 8.º Space Café Brazil, as well as the 50-year reunion of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), which brings together more than 70 countries.
In Area Programme Café Brazil, three competitions will be part of the list of the main activities. Considered the main event of the sector in Latin America, that fair will include exhibition equipment and products, business opportunities, as well as an extensive program of technical comprising lectures, seminars and workshops.
In 13.º Barista Brazilian Championship, competitors have 15 minutes to prepare a variety of drinks. On 6.º Cup Tasters Brazilian Championship , will test participants ability to correctly distinguish the coffees. The 3.º Coffee Brewing Brazilian Championship will highlight the art of coffee filter method and manual. The contestants will have to use the technique and skill to extract the best coffee.
Days 9-12 are intended for access by visitors to the exhibition. On the other hand, the 13th is reserved for technical visits to the major producing regions of Minas Gerais. Regarding access to the meeting of the OIC, this is unique to the official delegations from each member country.
Interesting to note that the International Coffee Week is an initiative promoted by the State Government, with the collaboration of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Minas Gerais (Faemg), Sebrae, ICO, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Café Editora.
